Avery Sunshine combines R&B, soul gospel and jazz in his signature style. From Broadway to European clubs and festivals, the singer has done work everywhere. Sunshine Her real name is Denise White. Although she is based in Atlanta however, her roots lie in Chester Pennsylvania. There she first began to develop a musical career performing and singing in a church. Her music career started in Atlanta in Spellman College. She took on the role of primary piano player for Tyler Perry's stage production Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday (a Grammy and Tony Award winner) offered her an opportunity to be the director of the choral section of Dreamgirls in Atlanta during the National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine received national attention for four daily performances during the Democratic National Convention in 2008. Sunshine was chosen to perform at President Barack Obama's inauguration ceremony in 2009.
