During his childhood, he traveled extensively with them. James Colson Baker suffered from depression, and was unemployed as Sonia Alane abandoned them at the age of nine. Then, Baker along with his father moved to Denver which was where they resided together with his father's aunt. Baker suffered bullying from other kids in the neighborhood due to of his poor living conditions. As a sixth-grader, he began to listen to rap. Colson Baker popularly known as Machine Gun Kelly was born on the 22nd of April, 1990, in Texas in the U.S. His songs are known for their ability to fuse contemporary hip-hop and rock music with alternative rock. Baker was the author of four mixtapes in 2007 through 2010 before signing with Bad Boy Records. These Cleveland rapper, who delivers songs as quickly as bullet-trains, had a meteoric climb in late 2011 when he switched from self-releasing mixtapes and being signed to reputable labels. His career took off from there, with all of his releases making it to the top 10 of charts.
